Michael Kumazawa
Mr. Kumazawa currently serves as a program management analyst with the County of Ventura in the County Executive Office (CEO), Budget & Finance Division. In this role he has operational, policy, and fiscal oversight of various County agencies and works to analyze and solve complex fiscal, budgetary, and operational challenges for the County. He also represents the CEO as needed on a myriad of special projects on behalf of the County Executive Office, partnering with leaders throughout the community to best serve the residents of Ventura County.
In accepting the position of School Board Member for Trustee Area 5, Mr. Kumazawa shared the following statement:
“As my career has transitioned from the private sector to local government, I have found a true passion in working with others to make my community a better place. My goals and objectives as a Board Member are to partner and work together with my fellow Trustees and district staff to successfully navigate the district through its current budget crisis towards a sustainable future; to increase academic performance and achievement of the students of SPUSD; and to strengthen SPUSD so that students, parents, and the community of Santa Paula are proud of the district’s schools, the overall experience of the students, and the quality of education they receive.”
