SPUSD Elementary Music

Each third grader in the SPUSD participates in a weekly music class taught by a credentialed music teacher. The fall semester includes exploring the elements of music through singing, movement, and rhythm instruments. In the spring semester, students apply these concepts while learning to play the recorder. Students keep these recorders at the end of the year as they prepare for band in 4 th grade.

rehearsals after school beginning in February. The Honor Band is featured in the annual All District
Concert in early spring.
