Artificial Intelligence
artificial intelligence in spusd
Santa Paula Unified School District is committed to preparing students and staff to understand and responsibly navigate the opportunities and challenges created by artificial intelligence. As AI continues to influence education, the workplace, and everyday life, our focus is on ensuring that its use supports meaningful learning while protecting student safety, privacy, and well-being.
Through the work of the SPUSD AI Task Force, which includes teachers, administrators, students, parents, and district staff, we are developing a thoughtful and responsible approach to AI integration. This collaborative work has helped shape district guiding principles, student and staff guidelines, professional learning resources, and an AI literacy framework designed to support students across grade levels.
Our approach is grounded in Board Policy 0441 and emphasizes ethical and transparent use, equity and access, data privacy, academic integrity, human oversight, and responsible decision-making. As these technologies continue to evolve, SPUSD will continue to evaluate emerging tools, strengthen safeguards, and provide our school community with the knowledge and resources needed to use AI safely, responsibly, and purposefully.
