Proposition 39 Energy Improvements Project

Utilizing Propostion 39 funds, SPUSD made various energy improvements in 2016.  Improvements included:

  • Upgrading the majority of existing exterior lights to LED District-wide
  • Some interior lighting upgrades, including the SPHS McMahan Gym and the Isbell Divine Gym
  • New wall-mounted heat pump units District-wide at all portables not slated for removal in the 2015 Facilities Master Plan
  • New District-wide energy management system (EMS), including new thermostats.  The District uses the EMS to turn off HVAC equipment on weekends, holidays, and school breaks to reduce energy usage.
